Ayame Shaga is Yoh Satou's half-Italian cousin who is an avid gamer and will often use her wily ways to get him to do what she wants. She is also a bento brawler known as the Beauty by the Lake (湖の麗人, Mizūmi no Reijin).
Appearance
Ayame has wild blond hair, wears glasses and is fairly busty and is usually seen wearing her school uniform.
Personality
Ayame has a mixed personality. She is very affectionate to Satou, and often playfully flirts with him, usually by pressing her chest against his back or arm, causing him to become flustered. She has a rivalry with Sen Yarizui and gets excited at the thought of fighting her. She tends to be stubborn at times and is easily irritated when insulted. She also gets upset very easily with Satou, especially when he prefers to hang out with Sen rather than her, often showing signs of jealousy, but is still protective for him.
History
Ayame's title, Beauty by the Lake, was earned when she ate her very first bento and fell asleep near a lake on a table.
Before then, Ayame is seen in Satō's flashbacks, where she is seen playing Sega games with him.
Abilities
Ayame often uses chopsticks to fight in brawls, but even so without using chopsticks she has shown to be very skilled in a brawl. However, she does some up short multiple times to multiple people, though she still has a lot of skill due to her quick reflexes and speed.
Other than bento brawling, she is an expert in Sega games and is nearly impossible to beat. Even Satou, who also enjoys Sega games, falls short against her, Ayame having beat him nearly 400 times with only about 90 losses at one point.
Relationships
Even though she never says it there has been multiple strong hints that she does indeed love Yoh. It's shown when Yoh always goes to Sen's side which makes Shaga irritated. It's possible that she herself is oblivious to these feelings towards Yoh. Yoh is oblivious to all her affection and sees her only as a cousin and nothing more.
